The Planning Board endorses surveyed plan layouts of new or existing lots as required by the Registry of Deeds and reviews building lot layouts as part of the process to obtain a Building Permit. Meetings are typically at 7:00 pm on Thursdays by request. Please call the Chair to request a meeting.
The Planning Board maintains the Zoning Bylaws.
Planning Board signatures are required to record a parcel at the Registr;y of Deeds. The process is:
- Prepare a surveyed drawing of the parcel(s) to be modified or created.
- Call the PB chair and ask to be put on the agenda for the next meeting. You will be notified when a meeting has been scheduled, (it will also be listed on the official calendar)
- Bring 5 paper copies and one mylar of the drawing, and 2 copies of filled-in “Form A” to the meeting.
- If the board endorses the drawings, take the mylar to the Worcester Registry of Deeds – 90 Front St. Worcester, MA 01608.
For new building projects that that change the footprint of structures on the site, the process is:
- Prepare a sketch that shows the location and setbacks of the new construction. You may use a screen shot of the Assessors Map as a background.
- Make a pdf file of the sketch and email it to the Planning Board. Or put a paper copy of the sketch in the Planning Board’s mail slot at 3 South Main St, and notify the board that it is there.
- A form will be sent to the Building Department indicating that the Planning Board has reviewed the sketch and has forwarded a copy to the Conservation Commission for their review.
